The HEZO process begins with our Scan App. Three photos of your foot – from above, inside, and outside – on a simple DIN A4 sheet. The app transmits the images to a server, where a mathematical reconstruction model calculates the complete 3D geometry of your foot, with over 20 measurements, in under a minute. The basis of this scan technology originates from the research of the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia, one of the world's leading institutes for digital foot reconstruction.
This 3D model is the starting point for TruMorph, our proprietary Fit Engine. While the Scan App captures the foot, TruMorph translates this data into a custom-fitted shoe. With over 1,000 data points and an accuracy of 1 mm, TruMorph not only adjusts the shoe in length and width but also considers every single area of the foot: arches, pressure points, individual contours. What other fitting software reduces to standard sizes, TruMorph solves with millimeter precision and specifically for your foot. Each pair is then manufactured using the FDM 3D printing process. From recyclable materials that are lightweight, stiff, and flexible.
On February 2, 2022, we founded "Gegenwind Sport GmbH" and later renamed it "hezo". The name "hezo" is made up of the first letters of Helen and her dog Zorbas and stands for harmonious coexistence in all areas of life. Our goal is to give every athlete access to sport and to treat each other with respect.
The idea for a custom cycling shoe came about during Helen's final thesis in product design in 2018. This led to the development of the Helu One, our first product, which was launched in December 2022. Thanks to the financial support of our investors at the time, we managed to develop the concept into a functional prototype. This was presented at trade fairs and competitions and received the ISPO Award, among others. The Helu One Edition, our first collection, symbolizes our path from idea to reality.
Since the end of 2023, we have been continuously working on improvements and new designs to offer a wider range of individual shoes that meet the needs of our customers. Our aim is to give every athlete the chance to practice their sport without restrictions, regardless of individual requirements of the foot anatomy.
Our commitment to innovation and individuality is reflected in every aspect of our products. Our goal is to expand our range little by little and develop even more performance sports shoes in order to be able to meet the needs of all athletes in the future.
