I'm riding my bike for almost 50 years and I never managed to find shoes that really fit well. Lake Extra Wide was the best option so far. My feet are size 41 in length and 47 in width... The Helu's fit really nice. They are comfortable and stiff. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The outer shell is a bit fragile and scratches easily and I get why they went for the magnetic Fidlock closing system of the shoes. A BOA system would make it a bit harder to get your feet into your shoes but it would be more precise and would improve the ride. It would be really cool if Hezo started to offer oversocks and overshoes. Because of the weird shape of my feet the standard socks on the market won't fit nicely.

Amazing pair of shoes. I Did not realize how wide my fit is until I unboxed my Helus. Out of the box they are comfortable. It took me a couple of rides to perfect dial the cleat position to avoid any kind of pain. Now they are perfectly dialed and is like pedaling with loafers!
they are very stiff but amazingly, they are not the worst when walking to get come water during the ride. I am so sorry they can't delivery to USA, however next time I travel to Europe I will get another pair.

The shoes themselves are amazing! First of all all the space my feet have now... just WOW! My feet were for the first 5 rides just stunned on all the extra room around and no cramping feeling from any direction, yet feeling that there is that immediate connection between my feet and the pedals.

Secondly the lightness of the shoe was something I really haven't gotten around with. May be that the airy feel inside the shoe makes it even more light feeling on the foot but I would say it is pretty close to having Crocs (I do not own a pair but have tested once) on my feet! And I must confess I understand not everyone likes the feel of Crocs for sure but the light and soft feel is there.

Thirdly I would like to embrace the fact I did not think about earlier and that is the ease of cleaning the shoe after a wet ride. You just rinse the shoe and the inner separately and let them dry for a couple of hours insead of days in drier with my old leather shoe. That is perfect for the seasons here in Finland!

To be seen is how my feet and the shoes handle the longer rides and the summer heat. It also feels like the outer shoe is a bit less rigid than my earlier super stiff racing shoe but I think I can live with that given all the earlier mentioned benefits as after all I'm not a professional and I'm not racing.

From the last we can bridge to the only thing I have to complain about and that is the delivery time. It took 5 months from ordering to delivery. Instead in the beginning it was mentioned 12 weeks. That was surpassed drastically. Even though I ordered the shoe way before the summer, I received it just at the end of summer. I sort of lost the opportunity for this year fully. And it would had been nice if I would had had an update of the situation from Hezo's side that "we have encountered an issue in the manufacturing and thus your shoes' delivery will be delayed", but no. I had to find out that myself. That is not a good customer experience. That needs to be fixed.

After all I still want to give 5 stars as the shoes show so much potential of releasing my full potential what comes to getting rid of all the pain in the feet due to "not having the correct kind of feet for the normal shoes of the industry".

Bisher hatte ich mit Schuhen ‚von der Stange‘ immer Schmerzen – ähnlich wie man es vielleicht von engen Schlittschuhen kennt, wenn man sie richtig fest schnürt. Mit dem Helu - 03 war das vom ersten Moment an Geschichte: Die Schmerzen sind weg! Der Schuh sitzt perfekt am Fuß, verhindert jegliches Rutschen und sorgt sofort für ein deutlich besseres Gefühl beim Pedalieren.

I've always had pain with off-the-shelf shoes—similar to how tight ice skates feel when you lace them up really tight. With the Helu-03, that was history from moment one: the pain is completely gone! The shoe fits perfectly, eliminates any slipping, and instantly gives you a much better feel on the pedals.
